Accessible Portable Restrooms Start with the Route to the Unit
Accessibility is not solved by placing an accessible restroom somewhere on the property. The route from the event, work area, or parking area must be considered as carefully as the unit itself.

Consider the complete approach
Identify gates, slopes, loose gravel, curbs, cords, temporary flooring, furniture, and narrow turns that could make access difficult. A firm, reasonably level approach with clear space around the unit gives users a more dignified and predictable experience.
Place the unit where people naturally need it
Locate it near the occupied area while keeping privacy, service access, and pedestrian safety in view. Consider routes from arrival, seating, active work areas, and break space.
Confirm requirements for the setting
Property owners, venues, public agencies, event organizers, and workplace programs may have specific rules. Verify applicable requirements with the responsible authority.
